En ce vendredi soir, nous, les « Guardians », sommes réunis à L’OLYMPIA pour voir les plus grands conteurs du métal BLIND GUARDIAN. La forte relation de ce groupe avec les gens d’ici est évidente en raison de leurs arrêts de tournée répétés dans la province. Aujourd’hui, ne fais pas exception avec la première tournée nord-américaine depuis la pandémie. Cette fois avec les artistes américains NIGHT DEMON, ils ont créé la magie une fois de plus devant une salle bondée et à guichets fermés.

NIGHT DEMON
Ces « metalleux old school  » ont livré une bonne performance. Dans un style qui rendrait Lemmy Kilmister fier, ils bougeaient activement durant leur prestation de 45 min.

En dépit d’avoir un public intéressé en raison des nombreuses têtes qui hochaient, il semblait y avoir une connexion manquante entre les deux parties. Est-ce dû à la différence dans les sous-genres musicaux ou parce que le groupe hésitait à parler à la foule ? Néanmoins, cela s’est légèrement amélioré à la fin avec l’apparition de la faucheuse errant sur scène pendant la pièce The Chalice et de l’habituel merci/bonsoir pendant Night Demon.

BLIND GUARDIAN
C’est sous les cris tonitruants des 2400 fans que les meilleurs conteurs du métal sont arrivés sur scène. En commençant par Imaginations From The Other Side, ils ont présenté un équilibre parfait entre la synchronisation musicale et l’interaction de la foule. En utilisant uniquement comme toile de fond l’art du livret de leur nouvel album (The God Machine) en tant que décor de scène, BLIND GUARDIAN n’ont besoin de rien d’autre pour créer la magie. Hansi Kürsch, le chanteur, a guidé son public à travers chaque récit musical avec soit une petite introduction soit un « teaser » et tout le monde suivait avec un chant impressionnant.

Jusqu’à la toute fin, où la foule montréalaise a EXIGÉ la chanson Majesty. Les instruments déjà débranchés et prêts pour la photo d’après-spectacle, le groupe s’est regardé en souriant pour ensuite se précipiter pour produire les dernières notes de la soirée.

Il y a un dicton qui dit que lors d’un spectacle de BLIND GUARDIAN, les gens chantent et le groupe les aide. Ce soir encore, ça ne fit pas exception.

On this Friday night, we Gardians gathered at L’OLYMPIA to see Metal’s greatest storytellers, BLIND GUARDIAN. The band’s strong relationship with the locals is evident by their recurring shows in the province. Today is no exception with their first North American tour since the pandemic. This time with American artists NIGHT DEMON, they once again worked their magic in front of a packed house.

NIGHT DEMON
These old school metalheads delivered a good performance. In a style that would make Lemmy Kilmister proud, they moved and headbanged through their 45 minute set. Although the audience was interested due to the many heads banging, there seemed to be a lack of connection between the two sides. Was it because of the different musical sub genres or because the band was reluctant to talk to the crowd? Anyway, this gap improved a bit towards the end with the appearance of a Grim Reaper wandering around the stage during « The Chalice » and the usual thank you/good night during « Night Demon ».

To the thunderous screams of more than 2400 fans, metal’s best storytellers took the stage. Starting with Imaginations From The Other Side they showed a perfect balance of musical synchronization and crowd interaction. Using only the giant backdrop of their latest album cover (The God Machine) as their stage set, BLIND GUARDIAN needed nothing else to create magic.
Hansi Kürsch, the singer, led his audience through each musical story with a little introduction or teaser and everyone followed with impressive singing. Until the very end, when the Montreal crowd DEMANDED Majesty. With instruments unplugged and ready for the after-show photo, the band looked at each other smiling and hurried back to play the last notes of the night.

There is a saying that at a BLIND GUARDIAN show the people sing and the band helps. This evening was no exception.
