UNLEASH THE ARCHER + PALADIN + LUTHARO

Ce dimanche voit le retour dans la vieille Capitale de cette puissance métallique qu’est UNLEASH THE ARCHER et ce, après 5 ans d’absence. Au fil des années, chacun de leur retour semblait attirer beaucoup plus de fans. Et ce soir, à L’Impérial Bell, nous pouvons le prouver une fois de plus.

LUTHARO
Tout d’abord, LUTHARO, ces amis de l’Ontario ont commencé le bal avec un métal sombre et graveleux à rythme rapide. Un contraste en termes de lourdeur par rapport à la tête d’affiche mais toujours dans la même partie du spectre.

Ils ont joué une setlist trop courte dont leur dernier simple Born To Ride, le tout avec beaucoup de son et . . . de grands sourires. Sur une bonne énergie, la chanteuse Krista Shipperbottom a bien aidé à mettre la table pour la suite.

PALADIN
Sur la base d’un rythme légèrement plus « thrash » mais toujours rapide, PALADIN a également su garder des vibrations positives sur scène. Malgré l’absence du bassiste qui n’a pas pu traverser la frontière (une situation entendue trop de fois cette année), ils ont livré un métal fougueux avec un ton qui rappelle légèrement CHILDREN OF BODOM.

Finale amusante, à l’appui de la situation malheureuse vécu par plusieurs musiciens, leur dernière chanson a été accompagné par les membres du groupe LUTHARO qui faisaient semblant de jouer de la basse.

UNLEASH THE ARCHER
Enfin, les Britanno-Colombiens sont montés sur scène avec autant d’empressement que l’excitation de la foule. La chanteuse Brittney Slayes est arrivée d’ailleurs avec les mains en forme de cœur avant même d’envoyer la première note. Pour démontrer que c’était une nuit spéciale pour eux aussi. En grande forme physique et vocale, ils ont joué principalement des chansons issues des albums Abyss et Apex.

Leurs compositions qui sont élaborées ont été exécutées avec une bonne précision et les très rares erreurs nous les rends plus humains. Tout comme leur slogan de gilet, Unleash The Archer a vraiment le « Power Metal » dans la peau !

This Sunday makes the return in the old Capital of our metal powerhouse UNLEASH THE ARCHER after 5 years of absence. Year after years, every return seemed to attract many more fans. And tonight, at L’Impérial Bell, it seems to prove it once again. 

LUTHARO
First, these friends from Ontario started this ball with their fast-paced dark and gritty metal. A contrast in terms of heaviness compared to the headliner but still in the same part of the spectrum. They played a too short set including their latest single Born To Ride, with a lot of volume and . . . big smiles. On a good energy, singer Krista Shipperbottom helped set the table for the future.

PALADIN
On the base of a slightly thrashier yet fast beat, PALADIN also kept the positive vibes on the stage. Despite their missing bass player who was unable to cross the border (situation heard too many times this year), they deliver a good spirited set with a slight tone reminiscent of Children of Bodom. Fun finale though, in support of the unfortunate musician situation, their last song was crashed with the band members of LUTHARO fake playing bass. 

UNLEASH THE ARCHER
Finally, the British Colombian took the stage with as much eagerness as the crowd cheered. Singer Brittney Slayes arrived on stage with heart shaped hands before calling the first note only showed how this was a special night for them too.  In great physical and vocal shape, they played mostly songs from the albums Abyss and Apex. 

Their elaborate compositions were performed with good accuracy and the very few mistakes only made them humans. Just like their shirt slogan, UNLEASH THE ARCHER do have the Power Metal!
